Hello! I am Debbie Alsebai of Milton, Massachusetts and I have been teaching
cooking to children and teens since 2004.
Many of us were fortunate to grow up with parents and grandparents,
neighbors and friends who cooked and gardened, sharing with us the value
and pleasure of good food. Growing, cooking, and eating fresh foods became
a cherished part of our lives.
Today, many children do not have this experience. We believe that hands-on
experience with fresh, healthy foods is an important part of learning how to
take care of yourself. Children embrace these experiences instinctively, with
enthusiasm and willingness in every class. We cook and bake a variety of
appetizers, entrees, desserts, and side dishes from scratch using fresh and
often local organically grown ingredients.
In my cooking classes:
~ Kids try new foods and learn the importance of a healthy diet
~ Kids develop skills in math, reading, science, nutrition and cultural awareness while working cooperatively
with others
~ We accommodate Dietary Restrictions such as: vegetarian, kosher, gluten free, allergies to nuts, diary
and/or eggs
~ I also teach classes to Seniors, Gym Buddies, and in Public Libraries
